Providing Life Changing Training

Today, Hatch offers vocational birth doula training programs in Oakland California.

What is a Doula?

A doula provides continuous emotional, informational, and practical support to families through pregnancy, birth and early parenting.

Why Doulas?

Hatch's doula training builds life skills in emotional literacy, reliability and responsibility. Our doula program helps participants become more employable and economically self sufficient. The services they provide improve birth and early parenting outcomes, positively impacting families and the surrounding community.

Empowering Community-Wide Change

Hatch just finished our initial round of doula training. Each of the 14 doulas are supporting pregnant families in their community and working towards economic self sufficiency. Hear about our impact in their own words:

• A minimum of 2 doula training programs reaching 200 parents and children.
• Mentorship and services for existing doulas
• Development of new training programs to increase overall impact
• Postpartum Doula Training
• Childcare Training Program
• Continue to develop more opportunity for Financial Empowerment
• Community Partnerships
